About

Our Why
Established in 2021 by three friends with a passion for the combat sports Border Grappling Club was created to provide a friendly and safe training environment that supports students to learn rapidly. A few years on and this goal has been realised.
Our HOw
Using the latest research in learning theory we use structured training blocks that focus on skill development rather than technique "hoarding". Live drills combined with detailed technique instruction finds our students quickly acquiring new and practical skills.

Our Guiding Values
1
Discipline
Motivation never lasts but good habits can be repeated. Long term consistent progress comes off the back of a deliberate routine and the ability to make the right decisions. On the mat or in life discipline is the glue that makes all the difference.
2
Development
Ongoing continuous improvement in all things is not just a catchy phrase. Small deliberate steps towards a worthwhile goal combined with a structured and deliberate approach to your learning will see you developing every time you train.
3
Determination
Lifes tough and so are the combat sports. Tenacity, grit, persistence, use whichever word you like, but when life gets hard being able to lean in and find the opportunity in the problem before you is a key quality that can get you through a tough training session and the next dilemma life sends your way.
